Amazon Seller Central News 3

Amazon reveals yet more changes to the Seller CentralAmazon Seller Central is a portal or a h... More page, and we’re here with our third and final installment of the series to share them with you in bite-sized snippets.

To find out how to take advantage of these upgrades, read our latest digest.

We’ve nearly covered all of Amazon’s changes to Seller Central in our previous two posts in this series. Having touched on universal tracking rate targets, ink and toner listing crackdown, removal of the seller rating feature and the launch of two new performance metrics in parts 1 and 2, we’d like to round off the series with a few Amazon policy changes and Seller Central dashboard updates.

1. Extended Holiday Return Policy

Amazon will allow customers to return orders for a full refund until the end of January 2016, if they were shipped between November 1 and December 31 of this year. Third-party sellers are expected to do the same, unless their individual Return Policy specifically states otherwise.

2. Updates to Scan and Label Requirements

The Scan & Label tool and its predecessor, the Scan & Ship, are being updated. They will no longer rely on Java. Browser configuration instructions are provided on the Browser configuration for Scan & Ship help page. Please note that Internet Explorer is not currently supported.

3. Editable Grid and Bulk Edit Features

Enhance Listings

There was a time when listings could only be edited individually using the options on the Product Summary page, as instructed above. Well, now you can take care of all that using the Editable Grid column and the Bulk Edit feature found right in your Manage Inventory section. Simply select Listing Enhancements or Suppressed from the horizontal menu.

4. Sales Conversion Page

The Pricing Dashboard now includes the Sales Conversion feature, giving you an estimated percentage of all the page-views that led to a sale. It also reveals the last week’s worth of listings with page views but no sales.

To access the feature, simply click the Sales Conversion link on the left side of your Pricing Dashboard.

5. FBA Furbishing Service

It was only a few months ago that Amazon.com launched the FBA repackaging feature, and it looks as though its British counterpart is taking matters one step further with its new and comprehensive FBA Furbishing Service. When returned items only need a bit of cleaning, re-adjustment or repackaging, and they are eligible for this service, Amazon will automatically log them in as ‘Sellable’ for free.

All sellers will be enrolled in this service by default, and as the number of categories included in the service is expected to grow with time, so will their qualifying inventory. To decline, simply access your Fulfilment by Amazon settings and locate the Furbishing Settings section to disable auto-enrolment.

6. Buy Shipping API

This feature provides Amazon sellers access to negotiated shipping rates for major carriers, enabling them to print shipping labels in bulk. More information is available on the dedicated Amazon help page. The following shipping integrators use a compatible shipping API interface:

  • ShipRush
  • Teapplix
  • OrderCup
  • SolidShip by Solid Commerce
  • M2E Pro Amazon Magento Integration
  • ShippingEasy
  • ShipStation
  • ShipWorks

As the Amazon Seller Central news series is drawing to a close, we hope that you’ve found it useful, and that you won’t hesitate to let us know if we’ve missed any important updates.
