We attended the Internet Retailing Expo in Birmingham a few months ago where we met Carsten Brassel, the UK Country Manager for plentymarkets, and his team.

Starting point
They started out as a contract job for a few large eBay PowerSellers. The development began in 2001, and initially focused on providing an interface to eBay, the ability to process orders, and an online store. Back then, the software was still called PlentyShop.
It developed into a shop system very quickly; and then it became an all-in-one solution for managing important e-commerce processes such as B2B and B2C, checkout, content management, invoicing, stock management, after sales management, fulfilment and returns.
Since more and more markets were added to the software over time, the company wanted to emphasize this fact by giving its product a new name: plentymarkets.
What is plentymarkets?
plentymarkets is an e-commerce ERP solution that allows sellers to automatically carry out all of their online business processes.
The solution includes a stock management system that was created especially for e-commerce, as well as a fully integrated online store. It includes interfaces to all of the major online markets (eBay, Amazon, Rakuten, Hitmeister, Yatego, Allyouneed and many more). This way, online sellers can not only list their products on multiple sales channels at once, but their stock and order information is automatically synchronized as well. This means that while sellers are present on multiple platforms, their data is managed in one central location.
plentymarkets also includes a wide range of payment and shipping service providers, which ensures that the entire e-commerce workflow runs smoothly. Beyond the actual order and shipping process, it also includes a comprehensive statistics module so that online sellers can always keep an eye on their businesses. It also includes a CRM tool to help sellers communicate with their customers efficiently, and provide excellent customer service.
