9 must-attend Amazon seller conferences in 2017

  • April 11, 2017
Reading time: 4 minutes

Amazon Seller Conference

It’s not what you know, but who you know, some say. Whether this rings true to you or not, you’re probably looking forward to rubbing elbows with industry leaders and listening to some inspiring keynote speeches this year. With that in mind, we’ve made a short list of Amazon seller conferences you simply can’t miss.

The online retail industry is so dynamic that no Amazon seller, whatever the size or experience, should take success for granted. Staying on top of the latest trends and technologies is the only way to keep that competitive edge.

That’s what Amazon seller conferences are for – bringing you the latest news straight from the horse’s mouth, in bite-sized chunks and from a new angle. After all, there’s only so much you can learn from webinars, blog posts, ebooks and whitepapers.

So we’ve put together a list of eight symposia, some mentioned in a previous post, that no Amazon merchant should miss this year. Here are our top Amazon Seller Conferences in chronological order:

1. The Sellers’ Conference (formerly SCOE)

When: twice a year, with the first edition on March 7 through 10 and the second due in September

Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Center City, Philadelphia, PA/ location in Seattle, WA, TBA

Who: around 30 speakers and hundreds of visitors, mainly small businesses and family-owned ones

How: Vendorland, Focus Groups, 2-hour networking session, software workshops, Q&A sessions.

Why: The Sellers’ Conference is the oldest conference, now in its 11th year, dedicated to online retailers.

What we like: this conference continues to impress us with the stellar speaker line-up and the variety of topics they cover.

2. Prosper Show

When: between March 21 and 23

Where: co-located with the ASD conference at the Las Vegas Convention Centre in Las Vegas, NV

Who: 37 speakers and around 1,700 attendees, mainly advanced and private labelThis is what you call products manufactu… More Amazon sellers

How: three-track program with a pre-show workshop

Why: workshops on listings, sponsored productsPay-Per-Click (PPC) ad platform for Amaz… More, accounting, supply chain management, branding, compliance, and sales tax, among others.

What we like: many SRO presentations with high-caliber attendees.

*The event just ended this year and it was a really amazing experience for us. Check out our story from the conference here and make sure you save your spot for next year.

3. Amazon Professional Sellers Meetup & Workshop

When: April 27

Where: Kol Yakov Hall, 1703 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY, United States

Who: about 400 medium and large sellers are expected to attend

How: series of workshops on Private Label, building your brand and much more as well as networking opportunities

Why: there will be a lot of discussing and brainstorming on hot topics such as ungatingPlease see “Gated”, latest suspension reasons, automating and/or handing off the management of your Amazon account

What we like: people are really open to new ideas, which gives us the opportunity to figure out how to improve and implement new projects to be as helpful as possible

4. IRX

When: April 5-6

Where: collocated with EDX at the NEC in Birmingham, UK

Who: 300+ exhibitors and 5,000+ visitors, mainly large sellers

How: 100+ hours of structured content with a pre-show workshop

Why: biggest UK event with 8 free conferences, workshops, 30-minute one-on-one sessions (clinics), and interactive presentations.

What we like: everybody who’s anybody attends this established expo, even though it can be hard to network because of the sheer scale of the event.

5. IRCE

When: between June 6 and 9

Where: McCormick Place West, Chicago, IL

Who: over 200 speakers, 600 vendors and over 10,000 visitors each year, trailblazers and retailers of all sizes will be convening in 250,000 square feet of space

How: several tracks and types of workshops – B2B, Amazon & Me and e-Commerce Technology

Why: in its tenth year, it’s the largest trade show in the industry with more than 130 conference sessions, receptions, a win-a-car competition, and access to many after-hours parties organized by exhibitors.

What we like: the speaker roster is massive, the exhibitor list likewise, it feels more like a trade show than a conference, and there’s more of a focus on B2B than at any other event.

6. UK Sellers Conference

When: September 6th and 7th

Where: London, UK (exact location TBA)

Who: about a dozen speakers, including Amazon experts and consultants, and successful UK and US sellers, addressing about 350 growing and high-volume sellers

How: 2-track show with 2 workshops

Why: it’s the only UK conference catering specifically to Amazon sellers

What we like: tiny by comparison with the ones mentioned above, this conference is a meet-up with a welcoming atmosphere.

7. Midwest e-Com Conference 2017

When: July 21st-22nd

Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Minneapolis, MN

Who: new and seasoned Amazon, eBay and Etsy sellers and vendors.

8. Seller Summit 2017

When: 18th to the 20th of May

Where: Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Who: about 100 Amazon sellers, from new to seasoned online retailers of physical products

How: 2-track summit (beginner and advanced) and a pre-summit mastermind experience

9. Rocky Mountain Reseller Conference

When: 2nd and 3rd of June

Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Denver, CO

Who: a dozen speakers addressing anyone with an interest in e-commerce, in particular, Amazon sellers

How: video add-on package, workshops, Q&A sessions

This concludes our list of Amazon seller conferences we plan to attend this year and recommend you do as well. If you’d like to share your favorite events with us or ask fellow readers for their impressions, please feel free to use the comment section below.

Hi Bertinus – There might have been – but there are many to keep track of. I know the Professional Seller’s Summit has a meeting in LA, but I”m not certain that’s the one you may be referring to.

      Hey Curt,

Yes, there is almost always a cost to attend more major industry conferences. You should be able to visit the sites specific to the conferences you’re interested in for more information on costs associated with attending.

      Thanks!

      Kate
