Do you use Profit Bandit on your Android phone or tablet?
If you prefer to scan with your phone held vertically (portrait mode) but have been experiencing crashes due to scanning with ShopSavvy, here’s a workaround that might help you:
1) Download QR Droid from Google Play (free).
2) Go to your phone’s Application Manager and clear the defaults from the Barcode Scanner app.
3) Run Profit Bandit and tap Scan.
4) It should give you the option to use ZXing, ShopSavvy or QRDroid. Select QRDroid and either Always or Just Once.
5) Scan and see if it comes up in Portrait Mode. Note that QRDroid doesn’t have a box or line to put around or on the barcode. Just get the barcode in focus on your screen.

this doesn’t work at all and pretty much makes your app absolutely useless for those of us that don’t want to turn the phone sideways every time we want to scan something. I really expected more for $15.

Which app do you recommend best for scanning with the bar code? I have the ZXing app for the barcode, but is ShopSavvy better or something? I have an android phone. Thanks!
Experiment and find which works best for you. Personally I like ShopSavvy!
