Selling on Amazon is a balancing act. It all boils down to striking a balance between having competitive prices and making a profit.
But even if it’s a dog-eat-dog world for some, it doesn’t need to be that way for you; not if you use Sellery.
To see how to tilt the balance in your favor, read our handy Sellery tip below.
The Simple Sellery Solution
With your profits hanging in the balance, it’s easy to understand why you need to keep on top of your pricing strategy. Even when reprice with Sellery, you simply can’t rest on your laurels and expect sales to fall from the sky and straight into your Amazon account, though it’s not unheard of.
Amazon sellers tend to set their filters in auto repricing software to exclude the most threatening competitors. In fact, that’s what Sellery is best at. But some users do so only to find that one of the sellers deemed harmless turns around and suddenly drops the price, making off with a sure sale from right under their noses. Why is that?
Sellery automatically calculates Minimum Price based on your Cost, your shipping expenses and Amazon fees, repricing on your behalf. But it will never allow the actual sale price to go below this pre-set Minimum Price. Obviously, when competitors pull the price down to this level, you’ll end up selling your product for no profit whatsoever. If competitors go even lower, you probably won’t be making that sale at all. That’s just the way the ball bounces.
However, you don’t need to put up with all that. No way, no how! Just add a simple filter to your Sellery settings this very second and fix it. Go to Settings > Pricing rules. Select the pricing rule in question. Go to the Competition tab. Add this filter: Exclude Offers based on their price+shipping and Exclude Offer if price+shipping is lower than my Minimum Price by 0%. Just like you see in the image below. That’s it! It’s that simple.
From this point on, Sellery will exclude those offers, and will only take into account the next one in line. Problem solved and crisis averted. Now let’s focus on those orders; they won’t be shipping themselves out. That’s one thing Sellery can’t help you with.
