Choosing an android device to use with Profit Bandit

  • November 20, 2013
Reading time: 2 minutes

Pile of Android PhonesUnlike iPhone fans, Android users have their pick from dozens, if not hundreds, of different devices.

If you’re in the market for a new Android device and you’d like to make sure that you’ll be able to continue using Profit Bandit, keep reading.

The Top 10

Note: The following is not a comprehensive list. This represents the 10 most commonly used devices by Profit Bandit users.

Do you want to run with the pack? If so, then choose one of the following devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Motorola DROID RAZR
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • HTC Evo 4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Note2
  • Motorola Droid X
  • Samsung Galaxy S II
  • LGE Optimus One
  • Google Galaxy Nexus
  • Motorola Droid Bionic

These are the 10 Android devices that are most commonly used by Profit Bandit users. If you use one of these phones, we’re sure you’ll have a great experience with Profit Bandit.

Go Your Own Way

Of course, those aren’t the only Android devices that will work with Profit Bandit. If you want to look for a lower-cost device that isn’t on the above list, here’s what you should look for:

  • Android 2.3 or higher – We have no plans to discontinue support for Android 2.3 in the near future, so it is still a safe choice. You can better prepare for the future, however, by selecting a phone that runs Android version 4.x, you’ll be well-prepared for the future.
  • Auto-focus camera – An auto-focus camera is absolutely essential for scanning barcodes. A fixed-focus camera (found on many low-end phones and tablets) will not focus on barcodes. If you purchase a device that doesn’t have an auto-focus camera, you won’t be able to scan barcodes unless you invest in a bluetooth scanner or manually search for barcodes. Be aware that many lower-cost Android tablets cut costs by skimping on the camera. What looks like a great deal might not be!

Questions?

If you’re thinking about a specific model, but aren’t sure what version of Android it runs or if it has an auto-focus camera, you’re welcome to email us.

However, because of the huge variety of devices available, we’re not experts in every specific model. In most cases, we’ll just Google the phone’s name/model number and the word “specs.” So give that a try yourself and you might save yourself time waiting for us to respond.

I used Nexus 4 and it is very slow with Tmobile. I wonder what other people use and how much is the response time. Mine is taking like 5 seconds to show up.

      Hi,

It’s very unlikely that your phone is the problem. It is much more likely that the TMobile signal is the problem.

The Nexus 4 is one of the most commonly used devices by Profit Bandit Users.

I am thinking of getting a “Motorola Moto G” which has an ANDROID 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
Will this phone be an excellent choice for using Profit Bandit?
    Regards,
    Ray

      Hi,

I’m not familiar with that specific model, but some quick googling suggests that it should be fine.

What you’re looking for is a phone with an autofocus camera and that one looks like it has it!

Enjoy using Profit Bandit! If you ever have any more questions, email us at support@profitbanditapp.com.
