Last week, we talked about the best of the speakers and presenters at the Amazon Sellers’ Conference for Online Entrepreneurs that took place in Seattle earlier this month.
This week we’ll be talking about how the vendors and other attendees make SCOE a great event!
The Vendors
Of course, I might be biased, since we here at SellerEngine are one of the many companies that make up VendorLand at the SCOE Amazon Seller Conference.
VendorLand is where attendees can walk around, meet with companies that offer automated repricingIt’s the practice of controlling and c... More, shipping solutions, inventory management software, and much more. It’s a great place to see what’s out there and what new products are coming soon.
My favorite vendor at SCOE 2014 was Merchant Words.
They’re a small company, a husband and wife team in fact. Their software helps you find the best possible keywords for your Amazon items. They do this by analyzing what customers are searching for on Amazon and estimating the total search volume for each item. Pretty cool!
Another vendor that stands out to me at every SCOE is DHL, the shipping company. Their DHL Global Mail service is a really great option for sellers who are starting to sell globally. DHL Global Mail allows you to ship overseas using DHL, then have your packages inserted into the local mail for the final leg of their journey. It’s a great, lower cost alternative to many higher priced international shipping options.
TaxJar didn’t have a booth this year, but Founder Mark Faggiano was on hand to answer questions that attendees had about collecting and paying sales tax on Amazon. Many sellers I talked to at SCOE swear by TaxJar when it comes to taking the confusion out of Amazon sales tax.
The Attendees
What keeps us at SellerEngine coming back to SCOE year after year is the opportunity to talk with hundreds of different Amazon sellers. Everyone’s got a story to tell and has their own unique perspective when it comes to the challenges and opportunities of selling on Amazon. It’s also exciting to just see so many people passionate about selling on Amazon.
One of our favorite parts of SCOE are the roundtable discussions among attendees who sell in the same product category. There are roundtables for books, electronics, hardlines, softlines and more. In these discussions, Amazon sellers talk about the challenges to their businesses and learn from one another. If you’ve never been to SCOE before, these alone are a great reason to attend.
What do we learn from SCOE attendees? We find out how we can make Profit Bandit, Sellery and SellerEngine Plus better. This year for example, we left Seattle with great ideas on how to improve Profit Bandit’s Buy List (including data, like your cost and estimated profit), as well as ways to make repricing in Sellery even easier and more intuitive.
Hope we’ll get to meet you and hear your story at SCOE next year!
