Weekly news round-up nov 9 2012

This week in Amazon news, FBA launches in Canada. Monthly Amazon Prime subscriptions, big book sales for Nate Silver and much more.

Amazon tackles review problem, deletes wrong reviews – This article from Forbes touches on the problems that Amazon has had with fake reviews (both positive and negative). Amazon may have become a little over-zealous and is deleting reviews that shouldn’t be deleted! How hands-on do you think Amazon should be in policing their reviews?

Amazon Prime for $7.99 a month?!?!? – Just in time for Black Friday, Amazon is introducing a monthly Amazon Prime subscription. It’s a bit more than the $79 a year plan (which works out to $6.58 a month) but might entice those who are looking to save money on holiday shipping.

Nate Silver’s Book Sales Go Through the Roof – Nate Silver, who correctly predicted the outcome of every state in Tuesday’s US Presidential election, has a book for sale on Amazon. And in the 24 hours after the election his book sales shot up 850% on Amazon. That should be a reminder to sellers to keep an eye on the news and price accordingly!

FBA Launches in Canada – FBA finally launched in Canada this week! Should be great news for our neighbors to the north who always seem to get lost in the shuffle when it comes to new features from Amazon.
