SellerEngine weekly news round-up

This week in Amazon news, the US Supreme Court reviews an important case, Amazon posts a quarterly loss and Black Friday sales are starting sooner than you think!

Supreme Court Weight First Sale Doctrine – First Sale Doctrine is what gives all of you the right to sell on Amazon. It basically says that once you buy something, you can sell it. But now there’s a case in front of the US Supreme Court that might change that. This article gives a great overview of the issues and what’s at stake.

Amazon’s European Tax Problem – Starting soon, Amazon will have to start charging a higher tax rate on its digital sales in Europe. This could be great news for European media sellers as digital products will no longer have quite as large a price advantage.

Amazon’s Black Friday Sales – Gold Box deals are back! And this year, Amazon’s Black Friday sales will start on Monday, November 19th. Who else is excited for another crazy holiday season?

Amazon’s Quarterly Earnings Report – Amazon released their quarterly earnings report yesterday and posted a loss for the first time in several years. This is mostly due to their increased expenses, as their year to year revenue is still growing.
