SellerEngine

Only 2 weeks until the new Amazon api – are you ready?

We’ve been talking about the changes coming to Amazon’s API for awhile now. In our last article, we discussed the data that would no longer be available to all 3rd party applications, starting on August 31st.

Today, we want to remind all Amazon sellers who use 3rd party software, including Sellery, SellerEngine Plus and Profit Bandit, that they have only two weeks left until August 31st, the deadline Amazon has set for deactivating the Products Advertising API (PA-API) and replacing it with the Amazon MWS Products API. Are you ready?

If you leverage available quantity, star rating, featured merchant status, or target specific sellers (and their offers), including Amazon themselves, then you need to start making adjustments now.

Here’s how our SellerEngine Software users can prepare:

Are you using Profit Bandit? If you have an Android phone, make sure that you are running Profit Bandit 5.3, which was released last week. This version is 100% compliant with the new API! If you use an iPhone or iPad, be ready to update when the new version becomes available. It is currently being reviewed by Apple.

Note: These versions of Profit Bandit require a Pro Merchant account. Learn why you should be a Pro Merchant here or read the Profit Bandit FAQ.

Are you using Sellery? We also have a version of Sellery that is ready for the new API. To activate it, you simply need to deactivate any pricing rules and competition filters that include features that will be lost due to the changing API and then contact us to let us know you’re ready. If you need help making these changes to your account, please get in touch! Note: This new version of Sellery will feature improved stability and increased repricing speed.

Are you using SellerEngine Plus? We’ll be releasing an updated version of SellerEngine Plus very soon (it’s going through the last rounds of testing right now). Email us if you have any questions.

If you’re worried about these changes, don’t be! We’ll be here to help you get ready and will make sure that your business doesn’t miss a beat.
