Are your Amazon items collecting dust with no sales rank to show for their awesomeness? Looking forward to seeing them battle it out with some of the best ranked items out there? Then follow our simple guide, and roll up your sleeves for a popcorn worthy outbreak of virtual fisticuffs.
For some straightforward sales rank brawling tips every Amazon seller should know, read our guide below.
The Prize-Winning Checklist
To begin with, let’s make sure we’re putting these items on the map. Just as you don’t send a pugilist out to fight without his trusty boxing gloves, you don’t just list an item willy-nilly and expect it to sell.
Whatever products you may be listing that don’t have a sales rank yet need to be priced accordingly. Unless the price is competitive, sales ranks will not climb to the top, because they simply will not record any sales. Just like a novice boxer looking to fight the heavyweights, it’s just not going to happen.
To price them competitively, all you need is Sellery smart lists. Here’s an easy workaround that collects them and groups them so that they can enjoy your undivided attention:
- Create a list using Sellery with all these sales rank-deprived items anxiously awaiting their turn to duke it out with the bestsellers.
- Go to Settings – Exports and create an export file with the following columns: SKU and Sales Rank
- Export your entire inventory.
- In the export file, sort the items through the Sales Rank column
- Remove the items that have a sales rank
- Add another column named ‘Sales Rank Info’, and fill it in with ‘No’ for all the items.
- Go to Settings – Custom Fields and create a new custom field, Text type, called ‘Sales Rank Info’
- Go to Settings – Uploads and upload the file you’ve created above
- Go to the Inventory section and create a smart list based on the ‘Sales Rank Info’ custom field: ‘Sales Rank Info contains No’.
A word to the wise: as some items may be caught up in several smart lists simultaneously, it’s best to set up the order yourself under Settings – Pricing Overview. Sellery gives you the option of assigning different pricing rules to different smart lists, and will reprice your items based on the order you’ve set up in the strategy. So check the order of the smartlists.
Secondly, be prepared to lower or raise your prices as you go. Checking similar items for their sales ranks and price is always a good start.
With these brand new Sellery smart lists in place, your items are ready for a more aggressive strategy to reel in those sales. What’s to stop them from power-punching their way up to the top ranking list? Nothing, really, especially with Sellery looking out for their best interests, like a trusty corner man.
