Office Products on Amazon.it!
On April 8th Amazon announced that the Office Products category will be soon available on Amazon.it.
Any seller should be happy when a new category becomes available. What a great opportunity to add new inventory items and diversify your business! Just make sure your prices are competitive!
Amazon also revealed that in order to make the Office Products easier to find and navigate, related items that are already listed in Consumer Electronics, CE Accessories, Home and Kitchen and Lawn and Garden will be included in the new category.
A referral fee of 15% that will be applied to products in the Office Products category. This means that if you already have items that are part of the categories we mentioned above, you should re-evaluate them and make sure that they’ll continue to be profitable parts of your inventory.
Lower FBA Fees on Amazon.it!
As of March 21st, FBA fees for items on Amazon.it have been reduced! And it’s pretty significant!
Sellers should see:
- 23% reduction for standard-size non-media item weighing 1kg ( from €6.30 to €4.85)
- 33% reduction for an oversize item weighing 9kg (from €11.35 to €7.60)
Amazon goes on to say, “Fees for monthly inventory storage, Long-Term Storage, optional services, European Fulfilment Network (EFN) and Multi-Channel Fulfilment are not affected by this change.”
This is quite a change and it might have something to do with the constant changes of shipping costs as well as the fact that the Amazon.it marketplace is still fairly young and evolving. Many sellers noted how hard it is to maintain good performance metrics on Amazon.it and Amazon.es. Perhaps Amazon is lowering these fees to encourage new sellers to test the waters of these marketplaces? As the marketplaces continue to evolve, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more changes in the next year or two.
Also, be aware that these FBA fee changes are being applied to Amazon.es (Spain) as well as Amazon.it (Italy), with the exception of media items.
New Currency Options for International Sellers
Starting about a month ago, the ACCS ( Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers) began to support more currencies, so if you sell on multiple Amazon marketplaces you have the option to be paid in more currencies without having to create an international bank account.
