Selling certain products and brands on Amazon comes with restrictions. When this happens, the seller must ask for Amazon’s approval and/or meet various extra requirements. These brands and product categories are called ‘gated’. You’ll probably also hear the term ‘ungating’ on seller forums, which refers to lifting these restrictions. Read more on that here.
