This week in the world of Amazon, good news for Katniss Everdeen, a new (and more expensive) category for Amazon sellers and a couple of big-time toy thieves get busted.
Hunger Games Passes Harry Potter – After only 4 years (and 3 books instead of 7) Amazon has announced that The Hunger Games has passed Harry Potter to claim the title of Best Selling Series. Amazing! These figures include both electronic and print books. Go Katniss!
Amazon Launches New Category – Starting this coming January, Amazon will be adding an Electronics Accessories category that may have many sellers paying higher fees. The Amazon commission for this category will be 15% for the first $100 of a product’s sales and then 8% for any amount over $100. This new category will include headphones, tripods, batteries, ink and toner and video game accessories. Full Amazon information on this category can be found here.
Woman and Adult Son Steal $2M in Toys – I would say that these are a pair of dumb criminals, but they probably would’ve continued to get away with it for awhile longer if they hadn’t used their rewards cards when making purchases. These kinds of stories make me feel bad for all of the sellers I know who are out there working their tails off doing things the right way! Keep it up everybody! And be on the lookout for anyone pulling a scheme like this.
