Amazon Tops Apple and Google as Most Reputable Company – In a study by Harris Interactive Amazon was named the company with the best reputation. Amazon jumped to first place from fourth a year ago and has maintained a golden reputation for the past 5 years.

Marketplace Fairness Act Introduced to Senate – This act would allow states to collect online sales tax, as long as they simplify their tax laws. Amazon’s VP for global public policy sent a letter that thanked the Senate for their effort to simplify tax laws. In addition to Amazon, other big brands like Best Buy, Gap and Home Depot also support the Marketplace Fairness Act.

Allegations of Abuse in German Amazon Warehouse – A documentary by a German news agency alleges harsh working conditions and possible abuse of workers. This isn’t the first time Amazon has been accused of providing poor working conditions in their warehouses. UK employees complained of working under extreme pressure to meet targets and quotas. In the US, extreme heat was cause for concern at a fulfillment center in Pennsylvania.
